<image:title>Blog - 2 Years of Smunth - The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez ️️ This is one of those books that is hard to talk about without spoiling the previous book. So please, for the love of SMUNTH, read Book 1, The Friend Zone, first. What I can say about this book is that it is heart-breakingly beautiful. How do you move on when the life you thought you were going to live is pulled out from under you? And how do you love someone when forces much stronger than you are pulling you toward that person? What I find so amazing about Jimenez’s work is that she somehow finds a way to weave fantasies and grandeur into the mundane and depicts serious topics with such grace. Somehow she can turn a rock star romance into something soberingly human and tender. You want to flip to the next page even if you think it might steal your breath. I can't recommend these two books enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - 2 Years of Smunth - Wild Card by Elsie Silver ️️️️ The last installment of the Rose Hill series tells the story of the grounded, patient, yoga instructor Gwen and the quiet, cynical aerial firefighter, Sebastian “Bash” Rousseau. The two meet while stranded at an airport. They quickly form a bond they want to explore further but one little hiccup takes the two down different paths. They long for each other for months but they try their best to move on. However, when Bash shows up to his estranged adult son's birthday party and meets his son's new girlfriend, nothing can prepare him for seeing Gwen. The story has crazy twists and turns and all the characters you love from the Rose Hill series show up; the best being Crazy Clyde, the surly old man who widdles his way into everyone's heart. The book is both funny and endearing. There are a lot of conversations about the life you dream of versus the reality you face, family dynamics, and grief. All is perfectly rounded out by Silver’s classic, steamy smut. Was it my favorite Rose Hill book? No. But did I love reading it? Absolutely! ⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - 2 Years of Smunth - Soul Searching by Lyla Sage ️️️ There is something so undeniably cozy and effortless about a Lyla Sage book. This is the first book in Sage’s new Meadow Lark series which is set in a small mountain town in Wyoming. We are introduced to Collins Cartwright, the Cartwright twin who left home to become a photographer and who became famous. After a few bumps in the road, however, she lost herself. When she comes home, she stays in the brooding upholsterer Brady Cooper’s spare room, and works as his assistant. The story is all about grief and finding yourself. Not just the grief that follows a death but about the life you expected and the paths you could have taken. Sage underlines this with friendly spirits who follow Collins around. This was an absolutely beautiful read and will hit home for anyone who has ever felt lost or confused on their path through life. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - 2 Years of Smunth - Mate by Ali Hazelwood ️️️️ Gosh, it feels like Ali can write anything. I mean, we knew after the massive success of Bride that she killed the paranormal omega-verse books. But she knocked it out of the park with the sequel! What I love so much about her books is how masterfully she makes each book feel unique and yet still gives it that Hazelwood charm! Mate is the perfect example of her humor. She gives us a brooding, grunting, overly serious hero with a spitfire heroine who gets under all his carefully constructed walls. As far as the story, I loved the fun plot with the mystery cult and dramatic past! Paired with the pining and yearning of the two leads the sexual tension in the book felt explosive. When the sexual tension finally did erupt, oh my word, was it sexy! And to top it all off, the interesting conversation Hazelwood wove in about women's health care made this book a five-star read for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - 2 Years of Smunth - Priest by Sierra Simone ️️️️️ This was one of Booktok's first chockhold books. It was everywhere! Now that I have read it, I understand some of the criticism, but I also mainly understand the hype. Here is why I loved it: I understand that for some the whole naughty priest thing may be too much but for me it's more a story of a priest grappling with his humanity. I think I should also clarify that I am not Catholic. However, I am deeply spiritual and love learning about religion and theology. What I love about Tyler Bell's character is that he is someone who really loves and respects religion and people’s connection to the Divine. He is a deeply spiritual man who feels drawn to the work of the clergy. But where I think this story excels is the fact that he had to learn how to do that type of work in a way that was sustainable for him so that he could have a relationship with a woman. Yes, the book is extremely sexy and I don't want to negate the inherent erotic nature of this story but I loved that Simone brought sex into conversation with devout life. She asked the deeply controversial question: “Is sex holy?” and the character development of Tyler and Poppy was mesmerizing. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - 2 Years of Smunth - And Now, Back to You by B.K. Borison ️️️ This was the highly anticipated sequel to First Time Caller in Borison's new Heartstrings Series, a series of contemporary romances inspired by Nora Ephron movies. These books capture the essence of a good rom-com. Fun plotlines with fun tropes and the most swoon-worthy love. Borison’s second book in the series is inspired by “When Harry Met Sally” and it focuses on Jackson, a radio weather reporter and Delilah, the weather girl at the local TV station. They could not be more different and have always struggled to get along but when a massive storm heads for Baltimore, the two are tasked with teaming up to report on the incoming storm. For this, the two have to spend a lot of time in a cozy inn during the blizzard. I love how their mutual understanding of each other unfurls. To watch them love the things in the other, that that person did not like about themselves was beautiful. Truly, their love story is about finding a partner who balances you. The chemistry between these two was delicious. I would not call Borison’s books the smuttiest reads but they are very sexy. She finds a way to add yearning to each page, leaving you feeling a bit sweaty and a lot weak in the knees. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - 2 Years of Smunth - Crash Test by Amy James ️️️ I was a victim to emotional damage at the hands of Ms. James! AND I AM SO GRATEFUL! This book was incredible. This was a beautiful, refreshing love story. Crash Test follows the relationship of Travis and Jacob as they try to find a way to the kind of love they yearn for. The two are thrown out of the status quo of their secret relationship when Jacob is almost killed in an accident. Jacob is a driver in Formula 2, the racing league just below Formula 1. He is young, and making a name for himself in the sport. His boyfriend Travis is an extremely successful F1 driver. The two live out their relationship from hotel room to hotel room behind closed doors. But when Travis thinks he is going to lose Jacob, everything changes. One of my favorite things about this story was the timeline. This story is not told in chronological order. In fact, we start with the accident, which instantly drops us into the emotional turmoil of the characters and even when you think you may have a handle on your heart, James will pull the story in a new direction that leaves you even more gutted! The two men have a type of chemistry that leaves the pages steaming, which is made all the more impactful when your heart is also shattering for them. If you are looking for an incredible book that will consume your life and leaves its mark, then read this one. And if you are going for maximum impact, then download the audiobook. The VA’s of this story delivered a performance that left me on the edge of my seat! Truly incredible! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - 2 Years of Smunth - Seven Days in June by Tia Williams ️️️ Tia Williams’ novel Seven Days in June is a beautiful story about how a love story of our youth can still haunt us. The story of Eva and Shane will melt the heart of any reader. They are both writers who have spent most of the last two decades writing about each other. Eva is a romance author who has been writing an erotic series about a witch and a vampire who are destined to search the earth for each other forever. In his award- winning novels, Shane writes about a girl who is like the flower that keeps trying to grow out of the cracks in the concrete. The two spent a week together in senior year of high school, forming a bond that was quite literally carved into their skin. But when things abruptly end it is clear that neither of them can move on. Now they are in their 30s, still holding on from afar. A book panel brings them back together. This story expertly examines addiction, trauma, abuse, chronic illness and healing. Shane and Eva are complex and radiant. Neither is perfect. They are flawed in the ways that make them honest. I ate up every page of this story! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - 2 Years of Smunth - In Her Own League by Liz Tomeforde️️️️ Ohhhhh, how I have waited for this story!!!!! It is no secret that I am a huge fan of the Windy City series and when the series ended last year, I was very sad. However, Tomforde quickly followed this up with an announcement about a forthcoming book for Monty, because of the sheer volume of requests. This eased my grief. Everyone's favorite “hot dad”, Emmet “Monty” Montgomery, from Caught Up, was finally going to get his own story in a standalone novel. Andm ooooh, was it a juice one! Monty is the field manager for the The Windy City Warriors, Chicago's MLB team. He loves his job and his team but the new boss is not his favorite…yet. Reese Remington, was raised to take over her grandfather's MLB team and she loves baseball. However, as the first female team owner in the league she is facing an uphill battle. The sparks between these two fly from their first interaction in Play Along. They have the kind of explosive love-hate relationship that has you turning the page at breakneck speed. Once things heat up - wink wink - you are instantly sucked into the sexy writing of Tomforde. I swear, that woman puts cat nip in her smut because it lives rent free for years! The tension in her books is iconic and when it finally snaps, all bets are off. From hot scenarios to memorable one-liners, these scenes get five starts on the smut meter from me. But what is special about Monty and Resse to me, is their age and how this was reflected in their conversations. I will yell this until the end of time but I think the romance genre has room for more age diversity. Let me read stories about people's second great love and what happens after the kids or the divorce. Give me the story of the lovers who have the benefit of life experience on their side. Reece and Monty's conversations around family and careers, who they have grown into as individuals, and what they pride themselves on, was so lovely. To me, as a 24-year old, they act as inspirations of what I could become and reminders of the things that never change, no matter where life takes me. I loved this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Epic legends the Sierra Simone Way: fascinating, mysteries coated in oozing, sticky desire - American Queen: New Camelot Book 1 The prologue sucks you right into a world of secrets, intrigue, and longing. You quickly learn that this is not your traditional fairytale. It's the story of 16-year-old Greer Galloway, who falls in love with a man ten years older than her, Maxen “Ash” Colechester, after a brief, passionate encounter. Five years later, she falls in love with his best friend, Embry Moore, after spending one night with him. Does it matter that none of them knew who they were to each other? Does it matter that she can't move on? Resoundingly: no! Because now that the men are the president and the vice president of the free world she can't run away. The story is a gripping tale of love, that blurs the lines between right and wrong, and shows three characters at a loss of how to navigate their feelings for each other. The characters face dilemmas, such as wanting to hide from their desires, and asking themselves if they can hide what their bodies crave even if society doesn't understand it. The writing was delicious. I was constantly trying to piece together the story and asking myself, “What happens next?” I devoured this story!</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Epic legends the Sierra Simone Way: fascinating, mysteries coated in oozing, sticky desire - American Prince: New Camelot Book 2 To be stuck in Embry Moore’s head is a heartbreaking experience. To the world he is the vice president, but to the reader he is the little prince. He constantly puts the man and woman he loves before himself. He suffers for them. The story tells us how he and Ash fell in love during the war and how they had to deal with the reality of military perceptions and responsibilities. It was beautiful and painful at once. And when Greer enters the picture, he finds himself having one more person to protect and love with his whole heart. My heart broke at least 17 times reading this book, but in the most addicting way. Love and sex can be these things that set us free or bring us peace but sometimes they come coupled with shame, grief, self loathing, or regret. We feel this from all three characters but none more deeply than the suffering prince, Embry. Once again, I could not put this book down. Not just because each chapter left me with an unyielding need to read on but also because of how deeply invested I became in all of these characters!</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Epic legends the Sierra Simone Way: fascinating, mysteries coated in oozing, sticky desire - American King: New Camelot Book 3 I felt emotionally abused in the best way possible after reading Ash’s book. It's hard to isolate this book when discussing it because this book is wholly informed by book 1 and 2. The story is incredibly rich and well developed from every angle. So, to finally be let into the mind of the king or the president, was like having a front row seat to experiencing what it feels like to have the responsibility of the world land on your shoulders. Ash never asked for this life. He wanted to be a good and kind man who lived and loved. But what does fate have in store for him? This story explored the privileges of duty and the toll this duty can take on you. We see Ash’s responsibility in layers and how it is compounded by being in charge of a nation. From having to care for one lover to two, as well as all his loved ones. Next to the title of the book, the book cover states. "Heavy is the head that wears the crown.” And no truer words describe Ash. His character is undeniably human i.e. imperfect, which turns him into the best leader. The story was beautiful.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Epic legends the Sierra Simone Way: fascinating, mysteries coated in oozing, sticky desire - Salt Kiss; Lyonesse Book 1 Talk about a fucked up fairytale. Salt Kiss is the first official book in the Lyonesse Trilogy and it's the story of the curious Tristan Thompson. He leaves the army after having to kill his best friend during the political unrest in Carpathia, a plot line started in the New Camelot stories. Plagued by PTSD he has no other options than to take a job with his new step-uncle, Mark Trevena, the notorious kink club owner of Lyonesse. He becomes Mark's personal bodyguard. A 29-year-old virgin, Tristan has to adapt quickly to the world of Lynoesse but finds it easier than expected due to the seductive allure of his new boss. Mark's dominance pulls Tristan into the word of kink and he falls in love with Mark. The introduction of Mark's future bride, Isolde, blindsides Tristan and to make matters more complicated, he falls for her as well. Both Mark and Isolde fulfill something in him. The story not only focuses on desire and the pleasure and pain people can inflict on each other but it also dives into the theme of idols. The story explores what happens when we put people on pedestals and the inevitable letdown that ensues when this idol crumbles. It's the perfect first book for the journey that this trilogy will go on.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Epic legends the Sierra Simone Way: fascinating, mysteries coated in oozing, sticky desire - Honey Cut: Lyonesse Book 2 In this story we get to dive into the mind of the shadow and glass princess Isolde Laurence, now Trevena. Isolde is one of those characters who looks almost like a glass doll, perfect and poised on the outside but on the inside she is nothing but sharp glass and smoke. She was born to be a banking heiress and groomed to be the Catholic church's sharpest weapon. When the story starts she is broken and lonely, in love with the monster Mark Trevena she is set to marry. But that's when the green-eyed hero, Tristan, comes to take her to her betrothed. She falls for him as well. To love two men is hard enough for a lonely girl but to do it in secret is devastating. This book really starts to dive into the themes of being isolated in a secret calling. Isolde craves pain and atonement as much as pleasure. The constant push and pull between vulnerability and honesty leave the reader breathless. This middle book will make you feel like your heart is standing on the edge of a cliff.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Epic legends the Sierra Simone Way: fascinating, mysteries coated in oozing, sticky desire - Bitter Burn: Lyonesse Book 3 When I tell you I have never craved a character's perspective more than I have Mark Trevena’s, it’s an understatement. His innate quality of quiet, cold domination, seduces you. Mark's story is one of revenge. Eight years ago, everything was taken from him, and as a result he has built himself a kingdom based on exacting retribution. He has built a web of secrets, a landmine of blackmail and all he has to do is keep playing the game, moving each pawn forward. However, people are not pawns at the end of the day and even the game master is not immune. Love is something that can change even the best laid plans! This story deals with insatiable jealousy, ravenous desire, and heart-aching longing. The story asks the questions: “What is the purpose of a vendetta and who suffers most in the end?” and “What makes a villain and are we the villain in someone else's story?” The mystery and intrigue sucked me in in a way that made it hard to do anything but read. And the payoffs of the whole trilogy were very satisfying. It was the perfect end to an epic love story.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Things that go bump in the night. - Pounded by Produce: A Veggie Love Tale by G.M. Fairy ️️️️ Here is the thing: when the cover of a book suggestively displays a massive cucumber and two tomatoes, you have a feeling that you know what you are in for. WRONG! Instead of staying with a down-trodden girl who was looking for a new start, in chapter 3 we are introduced to Father Robert and Father Lurant, the two young, hot priests running a small, rural parish that introduce a surprising twist! What happens next is hard to explain but let’s just say there is a witch, a curse, and some vegetable fondling. It's a happily ever after novella that I liked way more than I want to admit. It was whimsical, self aware, and overall entertaining. Let’s just say, I can never look at a cucumber tomato salad in the same way again…! ⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Things that go bump in the night. - Unhinged: An Erotic Door Romance by Vera Valentine ️️️️ I heard the words “She fucks a door.” and I said: “Come again?" and the response was, “No! Cum again.” I have no idea how to explain this book but basically the main character’s door comes to life to save her from her creepy landlord. You may be asking: “Ok, but is he a door or is he a man?” Well, from what I have gathered from most of these sentient object books is that as long as the heroine gets intimate with the object, that object can then turn into a sexy lover (obviously). The undertones of Law & Order SVU were surprising but I was along for the ride. ⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Things that go bump in the night. - Spooned: A lighthearted Utensil Romance (Book 2) by Ruth Cardello ️️️ When I started Spooned I did not realize it was reading book 2 of a series. Apparently, I had missed Forked. I didn’t really think it would be that big of a deal. And honestly, I could still follow along just fine. But the crazy thing about this book was that I absolutely devoured it. This is not your regular sentient object book. No. This is a book series about WW II super soldiers who were mysteriously turned into cutlery. There is a very sweet and tender love story at the core of this book, in addition to being packed with spice. But honestly, while I really liked the main characters, Cheryl and Jack, I was a bit more interested in the fact that the government made a squad of super soldiers from men with disabilities to stop the atomic bomb. Yeah, that's entertaining! So naturally, I had to read book 3! ⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Things that go bump in the night. - Knifed: A lighthearted Utensil Romance (Book 3) by Ruth Cardello ️️️ Again, I really liked the love story between Ray and Ashely, but the plot twists that Ray added to the cutlery mystery were what really grabbed me! And yes, their love story was cool because they could actually read each other's minds, which was objectively awesome and this led to some lovely conversations about love and belonging but, Ray's pivotal role in the moment that turned the men into cutlery was the real show stopper! And there was no greater moment than when I got to the last page of Knifed, thinking it was the end of the story and I learned there was one more: a Why Choose romance between Ashley's mother and three of the utensils!!! Needless to say, I will be continuing on with the series, and Ruth Cardello has a new fan. ⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Things that go bump in the night. - Why Cheese: A Cheese Shifter Romance by Ellen Mint️️️ Sooooooo, this book is about a girl who inherits her uncle's cheese store and during her first evening at the store finds four naked men living in the basement. These men are cheeses by day, men by night. It's a Night at the Museum, why choose (cheese version) romance. Just let that sink in for a moment! This book is by far the silliest book I have read this month. Mint added a ton of humor to this story. Every other line is a pun or a joke. This book really does feel like a children’s book for the 18+. Because even the sex is riddled with cheese jokes. It's a silly, goofy read that is cheesy in the best way!⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Lasting Impact of Smulympics - Pucking Strong by Dr. Emily Rath️️️️ The Jacksonville Ray series transcends all its faults and truly is a work of art. Some people criticize it for having silly character names, long page counts, or unbelievable plot lines. Furthermore, its look at unconventional love can stoke prejudice and fear in some readers. Taking all of this into account, it is still my opinion that this series deserves to be read because in reality these books highlight the humanity of people. Pucking Strong is the fourth book in the series and the main themes are grief, found family, and self discovery. I would say in some ways this is the most somber of the Rays series so far, only due to the tragic set up. The book is set 6 years after Pucking Around. The story follows Teddy O’Conner, former PT intern for the Rays, who returns as a fully trained doctor to fill in for Rachel who goes on maternity leave. During his time as an intern, Teddy harbored a substantial crush on Henrik Karlsson, the Swedish Forward for the Rays. When Henrick's sister is killed in a car accident in Sweden, which leaves her daughter orphaned and in critical condition, Teddy steps in to travel with Henrick. But things escalate when the two decide to get married to help Henrick gain custody of his niece. It's a wild plot line that instantly raises the stakes. The whole story then becomes an ode to found family and the love and care that can grow between people. The friendship evolves into deep caring and later into an interesting look at passion by exploring demisexuality. It's a testament to the importance of trust in relationships. Dr. Rath’s stories show her capacity for depicting human complexities. The fact that this book is Book 4 in the series is important because I would say at least 20 percent of the magic of this book is knowing the previous characters, and following the growth of all of them through each other's stories. This book was amazing! It was a new look at the Rays with a gorgeous payoff. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Lasting Impact of Smulympics - Rewind It Back by Liz Tomforde ️️️️ God Lord! I f’cking loved this book! The Windy City series changed me a year ago. It's a masterfully crafted world that has lived rent-free since last August. When Rewind It Back came out in May I put it into my September books because it was a sports romance. However, if I am being 100 percent honest, I did that because I was not ready for the series to be over. These characters mean the world to me and Rewind It Back lived up to my expectations. I got to see Rio, a character that I love, find his peace and Happily Ever After while also getting a great story. Childhood-friends-to-lovers will ALWAYS be my favorite. It feels like an honor to get to see how sweet and whole-hearted these two love each other. Hallie Hart is both cool and confident, while also being sweet and soft. She is the perfect partner to silly, kind, passionate, and emotional Rio DeLuca. The use of music was a fun and unique storytelling technique. I am heartbroken to be done, but - I can't wait to go back whenever I miss this world! <3 (End of Beginning by Djo on repeat)⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Lasting Impact of Smulympics - Pitcher Perfect by Tessa Bailey ️️️️ What I love about Tessa Bailey is that I know I will always get a book that has me laughing and sweating at the same time. The comedy that she injects into her work is phenomenal and her premises are hilarious! This book is about a hockey player and D1 softball pitcher who decided to go on a fake date to make her brother's best friend jealous at - get this - her family's annual athletic competition. The story is silly and goofy while also heartfelt, and the spice is amazing. What I appreciate about Bailey's writing is she never shies away from dirty talk that makes the book unapologetically slutty. There is something playful and empowering in that kind of smut writing style. This is a perfect sportsy-dirty-rom-coml What more could you want?! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Lasting Impact of Smulympics - Break Point by Yahrah St. John ️️️ This book was very hard for me because there were things that I liked about the book but the storytelling frustrated me so much that I was challenged for most of the book. This is a second-chance romance between two exes. Teagan leaves the world of tennis after a knee injury. The loss of her career leads to the loss of her relationship with Dominic as well. The two both walk away from their relationship feeling broken and abandoned. 12 years later, Dominic has gone on to become the most successful tennis player of their time and Teagan has built a real estate business. They both end up needing to work a charity tennis tournament and are brought back together. They have undeniable chemistry that is very fun to read. But my frustration lies in the fact that the two characters never really address their issues. They begin to sleep with each other and fall back into a relationship without ever having a productive conversation about the past. For me, the story dragged on without the important conversations taking place. The storytelling relies on the physical relationship rather than the emotional one to move the plot forward. The two only have an open and honest conversation with each other in the last few pages of the book. I am more interested in books that have a good balance between emotional and physical tension. ⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Lasting Impact of Smulympics - Saving 6 by Chloe Walsh ️️ This is Book 3 in the Boys of Tommen series and it’s the first one that doesn’t follow Jonny and Shannon. This story is about Shannon’s older brother Joey and his girlfriend Aoife. This book feels drastically different from the earlier ones. Joey is a character who has been beaten and abused and to deal with this reality he escapes into drugs. Joey is a hurler - an Irish sportsman. In the eyes of his abusive father, that’s his only redeeming quality. Joey’s a truly broken character who has a hard time seeing the beauty in the world unless he spends time with Aoife. For a YA novel, this book definitely has more sex. I would not say it’s smut. For Joey, sex starts out as another way to chase his demons but with Aoife he experiences sex with feelings. The story will not leave you feeling warm and fuzzy. If anything it will make you cry. But the reality is that love stories like Joey and Aoife’s are common. The first book in their story really focuses on the idea that we can't fix someone just by loving them. Sometimes people need outside help. But what we can do for them is to offer support. I need to read Redeeming 6 now so I can find some joy for them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - When Did the Girls Stop Riding Horses and Start Riding Cowboys? - Off to the Races by Elsie Silver ️️️ I guess, technically, this is just a horse girl book rather than a cowboy romance but it had the same magic. Off To The Races is the first book in the Gold Water Ranch series, and is also Elsie Silver’s debut novel. The series takes place at Gold Water Ranch which is a thoroughbred horse racing ranch. And the first book follows Wilhelmina Farrington, aka. Billy Black, the young horse trainer and the ranch's new owner, Vaughn Harding. They are both individuals who grew up with privilege but are trying to make a name for themselves. Also, they are each desperately trying to put their hearts back together after their families let them down. They have undeniable chemistry. Sparks fly from the moment they meet and the romance that follows is swoony. Did Silver reinvent the wheel with this story? Absolutely not! But did she build a beautiful world with lovable characters? Definitely! I can't wait to read Book Two about Cole Harding, Vaughn’s brother, and Violet Eaton, the jockey and younger sister to the Eaton brothers (aka. the Chestnut Springs heroes) ⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - When Did the Girls Stop Riding Horses and Start Riding Cowboys? - Chasing the Wild by Elliott Rose ️️️️ Well that was horny! I don't know if there statistically was more smut in this book then other books I have read but let me tell you it was significantly more lusty. I don't say this is a bad thing. Actually, it was quite fun to go back to this kind of a story; one where I genuinely felt like the sex was ever-present. If you are looking for a sexy cowboy romance book then look no further: this ex-boyfriend’s dad, forced proximity, romantic erotica is the book for you! The story follows Layla, a future veterinarian, and Colten, a mountain rancher. The two first meet and hit it off but things take a quick turn when they realize that Colten’s son is actually her ex-boyfriend, Kayce. The two are forced to spend a whole lot of alone time together and I can assume you can guess what happens next based on my first sentence. It was fun. It was raunchy. AND I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE FOURTH BOOK IN THIS SERIES! Because guess what, it's Kayce’s story and it’s M/M. I need to know what happens next! ⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - When Did the Girls Stop Riding Horses and Start Riding Cowboys? - Homebound by Meredith Trapp ️️️ What a refreshing story! Homebound is a cowboy romance that follows two childhood best friends who spend every summer together at a flower farm in Texas. The MMC, Wyatt, falls in love with our FMC, Dakota, at age eight. She is oblivious. So, when she gets engaged to a not-great guy 15 years later, he can't stomach it and stops coming back for summers. He shows back up three years later with a baby girl on his hip, looking for a place to stay. The book was refreshing because though it utilized many tropes, it also kept me on my toes. Every time I was sure what would happen I was pleasantly surprised with a twist. I also loved that the author made the sunshine character the man. He is the one with constant positive and sweet responses. The way he cares for all the women in his life is swoon-worthy. But I LOVED the FMC. She is a badass bullrider! She scowls at everyone and uses men for their bodies. She is nicknamed the Cowboy Killer. But it's all a front for the hard-working woman behind it who wants to make her loved ones proud and dreams of having her own little family. This story is sweet, steamy, and a little unexpected. If you love a single dad, Western life and a kickass heroine give this book a try! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - When Did the Girls Stop Riding Horses and Start Riding Cowboys? - Cash by Jessica Peterson ️️️️ I loved this book! I totally understand the hype around this series! I think it has all the components that make up an intoxicating cowboy romance series that you can't put down: the vivid small town, the charming cast of characters (that you also want to have their individual books), and downright filthy cowboys ;). As far as Cash and Mollie themselves go, I was hooked. They had this “opposites attract, enemies-to-lovers” energy that burned hotter than the desert sun. I loved their banter. And I loved that their tension was not forced. It made sense but we also didn’t stay focused on it for too long. There was pining and yearning. I think the way that they each respected the other and had common interest made their chemistry so enjoyable to read. I devoured this book in basically a day. I could not put it down! So thank you, Ilona Mayre. for the rec, lol. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Beach Read - One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune ️️️ There is this warm feeling that spreads from your heart to your whole body when you feel true love. And though we often talk about feeling that in relation to a person, sometimes we can be in love with a thing. A story, maybe. I am actively - and forever will be - in love with the story Every Summer After. Its sequel, One Golden Summer, left me feeling the same way. That is my own experience. But all I can speak to is the way I felt when I finished One Golden Summer. The book was the perfect sequel; it kept the magic of the first book alive while being totally its own story. Charlie Florek was such a beautiful and complex character in ESA and to see him finally get his happy ending was soooo special! I thought Alice was such a wonderful FMC because she was real and also inspiring. She was flawed and had so much room to grow, yet I still wanted to grow up to be just like her. And, my God! Carley absolutely smashes a lake story. She talks about how setting is one of the most important parts of her stories and that is so evident in this book. The magic of her story lies in the fact that she effortlessly draws us to a summer in a cabin by the lake. AMAZING! STUNNING! NO NOTES! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Beach Read - This Summer Will be Different by Carley Fortune ️️️ This summer romance is set on Prince Edward Island, Canada, also known as the home of Anne Shirley or Anne of Green Gables. Aside from being a romance, the book is a love letter to the island and the classic. Yet, most importantly, it's a book about friendship. I know that sounds a bit counter-intuitive but the story of Lucy and Felix is also the story of Lucy and Bridget. See, this is a best-friend's-brother romance. Felix is Bridget’s younger brother. When Lucy goes to visit her new best friend's family on PEI she gets there a day before Bridget and finds herself meeting a handsome stranger who happens to be Felix. It would take me forever to explain all the elements of this story, (and that would ruin it for you ;)), but what I will say is that Lucy is constantly prioritizing things she loves, like work and her friendships, over herself. She thus paints herself into a corner where prioritizing her own desires feels next to impossible. She just has to find the right balance for everything because she also deserves to be loved by the man of her dreams. As far as Lucy and Felix go, their story is one of those beautiful stories where you get to watch people fall in love without them realizing it. It’s romantic, poetic, and steamy as fuck. These two have sexual tension that you can see hanging in the air! It's a phenomenal beach read with a magical setting. I am currently planning a trip to PEI in my head. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Beach Read - Till Summer Do Us Part by Meghan Quinn ️️️️ I think this book was the best surprise of my summer. I had a feeling it was going to be fun and I knew it had received rave reviews. But this! This was so much better than I thought it would be. This felt like the perfect rom-COM. It was silly. It was goofy. It made me giggle! The story follows Scottie, a single divorcée, who is living in NYC working as a copy editor for a golf magazine. She is the only woman in the office (besides the boss) and the only unmarried one. All her coworkers are obsessed with being married and she feels like the odd one out so, in a desperate measure to fit in she lies and says she actually is married and is just having some marital problems. The lie is not only a bad idea but it blows up in her face when she learns that her boss's husband is a relationship counselor. She needs a fake husband fast and who better to step in beside her bestie’s millionaire, retired-at-27, improv-loving brother. They end up at a marriage camp for eight days with all of her coworkers. What could go wrong? It's comedic gold! It's Meghan Quinn! Her smut is fantastic. So steamy! And the way she pairs it with humor makes her a delight to read! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Beach Read - Beach Read by Emily Henry ️️️ It's funny to me that this book's premise is two writers writing books in genres they don't normally write because I felt like I was reading a new Emily. Or rather an old Emily? There was something distinctly different about this book. Maybe it was the fact that it was her debut and her voice was rawer. Perhaps it was the fact that Gus felt different to all her other heroes. Most notably, how he interacted with January in the beginning of their love story. Or maybe it was the darker themes that came with the New Eden cult subplot. The book just felt so different from the “Emily Henry books” to which I am now accustomed. BUT DIFFERENT IS NOT BAD. It's just different. Once I settled into what this story would be, I loved the journey. Is it my favorite book of hers? No. But it's a beautiful, beautiful book. I loved the nuance of January’s levels of grief. And how her feelings and beliefs about her father were constantly evolving. I also loved how Gus and January constantly communicated their relationship fears and their take on Happily Ever Now. It's a motto I try to use in my own life. Actually, to me much of this book felt deeply relatable. And I think that is why time and time again people turn to Henry’s books. She has something in her writing that makes people feel human. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Beach Read - Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood ️️️️ This story was in fact, as Hazelwood said in her author’s note, an erotic romance and not a rom-com. It was inherently different from her other work. Though having read it much after publication and after the release of Deep End, I can see how it was simply her first foray into erotic literature. What I loved about Not in Love was how it dug into the darker parts of our brain. The FMC is not a typical love-sick heroine. She has walls and she has armor and even when she finds her love story she stays herself in many ways. I thought the story was compelling, engaging and ultimately an enjoyable read. The sexual relationship between these two was extremely interesting to observe. The question of “is this just fucking?” was a consistent conversation and I think the two characters' sexual openness led to a fascinating dynamic. This is a great SMUNTH read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Beach Read - Problematic Summer Romance by Ali Hazelwood ️️️ Oh! Now this was a fun one! I can't lie, I read this in a feverdream of a horrible cold in 48 hours, so my brain was probably not at its best. But regardless, I had a great time. From my understanding this was Hazelwood's first real sequel. Most of the characters in the book directly came from the previous book, Not in Love. And it was such a treat! I loved that she built on the world she had created around Eli and Rue. Getting Maya and Conor's story surrounded by characters I already got to know previously and loved was fantastic. I thought the story was FUN. It was the perfect beach read, easy, silly, and lighthearted, with delightful circumstances. She used the brother’s-best-friend and age-gap tropes in a way that was salacious and exciting without being predatory. I love the way she handled the story to keep it forbidden but not illegal: Maya is 23 and Conor is 35, so there was no under-age lusting. There is a lot, a lot, of communication about the perceived and real power imbalances between the two, thus making their dynamic believable. All in all, I would highly recommend this as the perfect book to take on a vacation. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Taking Up More Than An Inch - For The Fans by Nyla K. ️️️️️ (M/M) Avi and Kyran's love story is definitely a unique kind of joy. For The Fans is the story of two young men who become stepbrothers at 16 and who hate each other. They end up going to the same college. They avoid each other like the plague and fight like dogs as soon as they are near each other. But when Kyran's dad’s business goes under and the step-brothers need to find fast cash in order to stay at school they become the most unlikely of business partners. And what better way to make money than creating an OnlyFans account together (An app where people pay for sexual video content). Yes, fucking your step-brother to pay for school is an absolutely wild plot for a story, but my God, was it entertaining! Avi and Ky’s story is an ode to sexual exploration and what can happen when people trust each other and can't fight their hunger for one another. But not only is it a story of sexual liberation, it is also a story that grapples with the emotional turmoil that comes with emotional intimacy. This story is all slutty and fun until real life and real trauma can no longer be avoided. These two characters challenge each other for the entirety of this emotional book. At the same time it had me laughing my ass off. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Taking Up More Than An Inch - Tryst Six Venom by Penelope Douglas ️️️️ (F/F) I knew that Penelope Douglas's work was wild… I knew it would be shocking, salacious and gripping. But no matter how much you think you know about a book or an author, when you actually get to read the work it’s always SO MUCH BETTER. See, from page one I was blushing. The tension between Clay and Olivia is so thick you feel it coming off the page. It has every stereotype you can think of to make a sexy sapphic story: chaotic southern school girls, rich “good” girl and poor “bad” girl from the wrong side of the tracks, team mates, and a whole lot of unchecked anger and lust. Yeah, it has “captivating” written all over it. This romance was all-consuming, between their love story and the drama that surrounded them, their family and their friends, I simply could not put this book down! And at the end of all the drama and the sex, the story really was about choosing the freedom to break outside the box you are living in. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

Shane and Ilya’s love story will live etched into my heart for the rest of my life. That is just my truth. I needed them to get that true happily ever after. I needed them to find their peace and Heated Rivalry wasn't enough. The Long Game is the continuation of their story and their true Happily Ever After. This book gets flack sometimes for not being as good as Heated Rivalry or better. But I was not disappointed. Maybe it was the time that I spent between the two books. I don't know. But I can honestly say I am happy with the ending. They are together. I liked that the book circled back and dove deeper in the Rozanov depression. I like that Shane was forced to take a look at the things around him that aren't working and stand up for himself. Heated Rivalry is the better book but that's because what comes after the happily ever after is the real relationship. The in’s and out’s of it. The struggles. The Long Game was a romance book that felt real. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Taking Up More Than An Inch - The Pairing by Casey McQuiston ️️️️ (M/T) This book is a love letter to the things that make life worth living. Food, a good view, friendship, travel, and love. This is a book that paints the most sumptuous picture of a food and wine tour through France, Spain, and Italy. Every page of the book was an experience that I would die to have. But this book was obviously more than just a love letter to Europe. It was also a second chance romance. I like a second chance romance fine enough but they are magical when it's a friends-to-lovers-to-exs-to-lover story. My favorite part about KIt and Theo was their childhood together. How their story was rooted in the love that they showed each other as kids before their relationship was about sex. And speaking of sex, this was such a horny book in the BEST way possible. Both characters identify as bisexuals and have a little game they play along the way. So needless to say this book was about flirting, kissing, and making sweet, sweet love all night long. This is the perfect summer book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Taking Up More Than An Inch - Pole Position by Rebecca J. Caffery ️️️ (M/M) It's been a while since I read an F1 book and it was super refreshing and exciting to be back in the world of motorsports. This story describes the relationship between an older driver and a rookie. It’s a wild child vs. the responsible one trope. Fast cars, sex, and strong feelings is a sure-fire way to a good time. It took me a while to figure out what was different about the story. And then it dawned on me: it felt like it was written by a man rather than a woman (despite the author being a woman). I think it was the way these men talked about their feelings. It was less descriptive and more to the point than the other stories on this month’s list. Using language in this way was probably Rebecca's intention because it helps to define these two characters and the world of racing in a more realistic way. The story was spicy but not overly so. I would say this was actually a good intro book into M/M smut. ⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Love Is In Bloom - I Loved You in Another Life by David Arnold no chilis This story was full of soul and deep meaning. It guides the reader into a love story of two teenagers, Evan and Shosh, who are being brought together by a force that they can't seem to fully understand. It’s because they have been soulmates throughout history. Chapters are woven into the story in which the reader watches their souls fall in love in different ways, in different time periods, and as completely different manifestations. This story deals with the loss and grief of anyone whom you might love, be that a sister, a parent, or a friend. Though the story was undeniably whimsical, it was able to steep itself in the reality of a teenager's mind and portray the helplessness of growing up. It depicts the time when all of a sudden the veil of childhood is lifted but you don't know how to take care of yourself yet. What is so beautiful about Evan and Shosh’s love story is how they help each other grow. They are able to act as the support that the other needs in order to step into the new reality of who they are meant to become. Though there is magic in this story, all it does is highlight how magical it is when you find the person who loves You.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Love Is In Bloom - Run Away With Me by Brian Selznick no chilis Every once in a while you read a book that changes your entire life. A story you know will live in the marrow of your bones. A book that feels more like an old friend rather than a collection of paper and glue. For me, Selznick has accomplished this twice in my life. Hugo may be one of the only stories I remember from my childhood. It's imprinted in the memories of time. And now I know that Run Away With Me will be the very same! This hauntingly beautiful story follows a sixteen-year-old American boy as he spends a summer in Rome. He meets an Italian boy who shows him around the city and tells him stunning stories about Rome and gay lovers throughout the centuries. The boys make up names for each other (Danny and Angelo) so they can fit into the make-believe world of Angelo’s stories. They quickly fall in love with each other and the city itself. The tenderness of their love story deeply touched me and I’ve never written down as many quotes from a book. While the book is about queer love, the timid way the two boys fall in love is universal and makes most everyone feel seen. The story looks at youth, queerness, art. history and is told through the combination of black-and-white drawings and text. There is no way for me to truly capture the beauty of this book in a review so all I can do is beg you to read it and beg you to take a chance on this story!</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Love Is In Bloom - Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood no chilis I feel like I start every Ali Hazelwood review the same way: I just absolutely worship the ground she walks on. We know she's funny, we know her work is smart and thought-provoking and that the love between her characters will always give us butterflies. But I guess that's why I will always pick up her books. This is her beloved chess book. In the author's note she said that she had been dreaming of writing it. And I see why. Chess is undoubtedly slow and a bit boring but talented chess players are fascinating. Their brains work in ways that mine just never will. And spending time with these talented characters was such a treat. I also loved Hazelwood’s take on “YA”. She kept the smut “closed door” but she still made sex a conversation within the book. As we know, my whole brand is that sex is a part of the human experience whether you are having it or not. And so, talking about sex and what it means to each character helps create realistic representations of life. I loved the dynamic between Mallory and Nolan when it came to their views on intimacy. It was so refreshing to see a young woman taking ownership and embracing her own sexuality while also seeing a young man do what was right for him, regardless of what society might expect of a young, hot, wealthy man. All in all, I thought the book was a great read and I highly recommend it to everyone.</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Love Is In Bloom - Binding 13 by Chloe Walsh no chilies Everyone warned me that this book would have heavy themes. And it did. But the overwhelming feeling I am having after reading this book is that I just need to give these characters a hug. This story follows two Irish high schoolers in 2005 in Cork, Ireland. Johnny is the star of the rugby team and is the town's golden boy. He’s tall, gorgeous, popular, and so talented in his sport that he will play for his country. His life is seemingly perfect. Shannon, on the other hand, is barely holding on. She has been horrifically bullied her whole life and at home is constantly beaten by her father. She's tiny, weak, and is trying to hold onto hope. So, on her first day at a new school that has the promise to be different from the hell she is used to, she gets knocked out by Johnny's rugby ball. Neither of them are prepared for the way their lives are about to change. The way my heart was in a vice grip reading this entire book! Both these teens held all their cards so close to their chests, terrified of vulnerability. But they found someone in each other to finally breathe with. Whether you were someone who suffered from the pressure of being a high schooler or from the crippling emotions of adolescence, you will relate to these characters. Their story continues in the next book in the series, called Keeping 13, and let's just say I had to start it immediately…</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison ️️ This is a book that everyone on my FYP was raving about so I wanted to join in. Borison did not disappoint! This book was inspired by Nora Ephron’s classic film Sleepless in Seattle. The FMC Lucie, a single mom mechanic, finds herself spilling her guts to a stranger on live air. Her daughter called in for her and now Aiden is sitting in a radio studio completely enamored with the women on the other side. Lucie's dream for “magic” when it comes to love pulls on everyone who listens’ heart strings, and the reader’s as well. This book was a beautiful look at what we dream of, what we need, and what ends up being our truest form of happiness. Between Lucie's honesty about being tired of searching for someone to make you feel special and seen, and Aiden's fear of caring about someone and then losing them, these two characters captured my heart! Also the sexual tension and yearning were impeccable!! And the one smutty scene was hot! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ special edition</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - Book Lovers by Emily Henry ️️ I think this may be one of my favorite books of all time. No actually, it is! I don't even know where to begin with this one. From the prologue, I was hooked. This book beautifully played with reality and fiction as it made self-aware jokes about book tropes and the romance genre. I loved it immediately. The characters were charming and interesting at the same time as being so damn relatable. Henry has a way of making romance books feel like great American classics. Her characters and plots are so realistic that you are not thrown out of the story once. And she finds a way to keep you in awe of her words. The FMC, Nora, is who I aspire to be when I grow up, cracks and all! And Charlie Lastra, our MMC, has just slid his way into the top two book boyfriends of all time for me. Their ability to love each other for who they are is inspiring. Henry has an ability to do something that many authors cannot: she writes smut that is simultaneously high-literature and hot as hell. She is able to convey the animalistic reality of sex that allows the characters to stop their brains and just feel, while still keeping the reader in the romantic language of the book. She is a master amongst mortals. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ special edition ⭐️something a little extra</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - Swift and Saddled by Lyla Sage ️️️ The Rebel Blue Ranch Series is always so much fun. It's been a minute since I read the first one (Done and Dusted) but I remember having so much fun with it. Honestly, though, I think this one had a different magic to it. There was nothing life-changing about this book. But it has something that's almost more important: it made me happy. Lyla Sage’s books are perfect in their simplicity. Each time I would pick one of these books up I totally enjoy myself. But this book specifically made my heart swoon. Wes and Ada were so lovely. From the first page I just wanted them to find their happily ever after. This was just a fun read. Oh, and the steam was steamy! Talk about a man who will talk you through it! <image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - Lost and Lassoed by Lyla Sage ️️️ Myyyyyy GOD! Single dad x nanny books are just so much damn fun! This one had a fun twist to it because they were not strangers before this new found arrangement. No. They were enemies. Teddy Anderson has been best friends with Clementine (Emmy) Ryder since they were babies but she's been enemies with August (Gus) Ryder (Emmy’s eldest brother) for almost as long. Teddy and Gus love to hate each other but when they are forced to spend time together alone they are also forced to see each other's good sides. And I ate it up. This book was fun and wholesome and HOT. Once Gus and Teddy finally start to roll around in the sheets, my Lord, buckle up! This is so fun and an easy read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hard cover</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - Wild and Wrangled by Lyla Sage ️️️ This was the last book in the series and it wrapped up the story of the last two members of this family. See Cam, our FMC, is Gus' baby mama and thus a part of the Ryder family. And Dusty, our MMC, is a long-time friend to all the Ryders. This is a second-chance romance meaning these two dated in high school but broke up and now, 15 years later, are trying to find their way back to each other. There were parts I loved and understood about Cam but there were also parts that kind of frustrated me along the journey. BUT DUSTY… now that is a man that is easy to love! I absolutely devoured his chapters and everything he said to her. I am firmly TEAM DUSTY. But I think the part of this book that will stick with me forever was towards the end. It was two conversations; one between two parents and one between two future step-parents. Cam and Gus were never officially together but after they hooked up one night and ended up with Riley, they formed a beautiful friendship. Teddy and Dusty are two old friends (almost step-siblings :)) who find themselves taking on one of the greatest jobs known to man; being a good step-parent. To say I cried would be putting it lightly. More like sobbing and gasping for breath. For these two scenes alone the Rebel Blue Ranch is a must read!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hard cover</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - Wild Love by Elsie Silver ️️️️ Else Silver writes like ink flowing into water. It's fast and smooth. I can't even explain how easy her books are to read. They are beautiful in their simplicity and ease. I know that I will always be able to pick up one of her books and just fly through it. This book is the first book in the Rose Hill series which is the series that came after her wildly popular Chestnut Springs series. To say there was a lot of pressure on this book living up to the previous series would be an understatement. But this friends-to-lovers, brother’s best friend, single dad, small town romance lived up to it! Ford and Rosie were an absolute pleasure! Ford was just named “Sexiest Billionaire” when he moved back to a small mountain town in Canada to open his new recording studio. So when his neighbor and best friend Wes’s little sister Rosie shows up looking for a job, he gives her one. But it's really just an excuse to spend more time with the girl he has been in love with his whole life. Their love story is fun and playful while also discussing privilege and power. But I think the true star of the show is Cora, Ford's 12-year-old daughter, who came into the world due to the fact that when Ford was young he needed some cash and figured sperm donation would do the trick! It’s a hoot and half. And don't forget Elsie Silver is the queen of dirty talk. ;) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hard cover</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - Wild Eyes by Elsie Silver ️️️️ Wow, I am shocked at how emotional I am at the end of this one. Here is the thing: you know how I feel about Elsie's work. I always like it. And everyone says this is her best work but I am still shocked! It's not what I expected. It was fun and light-hearted but it has a lot of depth and I felt my chest crack open when I got to chapter 32 and I heard the song Photosynthesis (I did listen to the audiobook version of this which includes the actual song). This is a story about a fun-loving, dependable single-dad who runs a horse training ranch while raising his two children. He is lonely and he falls head over heels in love with a lost and anxious country popstar who escaped her life to try and make music that is all her own. I can't say too much without spoiling this one but I can say I smiled and I cried and I would do it again and again. AND THE SMUT! FILTHY! enjoy;). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hard cover</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - Wild Side by Else Silver ️️️️ The third book in the Rose Hill series follows Ryce Dupre and Tabitha Garrison. The two are pushed together after the tragic loss of Tabitha’s sister, Erika. Together they have to raise Erika's son, Milo. This story has the fun ease of an Else Silver novel but with a new-found depth. The story takes a real look at loss, grief, and guilt that follows these characters as well as examines their past traumas. It's real, and for that I think it just might be my new favorite book of hers! The lows of the book are contrasted by a steamy, steamy love affair. The smut in this book will have you in a sweat. So buckle up for a story that will leave you breathless! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hard cover</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry ️ This book has left me feeling a bit like an exposed nerve, sensitive to the very air around me. I don't need to tell you to read Henry’s work, you already know you should. She is the epitome of romantic literature. But I can tell you that this story was heartbreaking, real, and vulnerable. This book shows the true pain of a friends-to-lovers story because she doesn't just tell you they yearn for each other's affection. No, she makes you read 12 years of two people who love each other so fiercely, without ever having the guts to admit to their feelings. This book was not a simple, fluffy book but rather a compelling look at genuine connection and fear. Once again, I would say that Henry does not write smutty books but her books still explore themes of physical intimacy and what that means for each of her characters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hard cover</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - Wallbanger by Alice Clayton️️️ I mean, come on! With a name like that, it has to be hilarious! And it was! From the first chapter I was giggling up a storm. Clayton brought a youthfulness to her story. Don't worry, her characters are in their 30’s and mature. But there was a silliness that completely had me enamored with this book. It reminded me that no matter how old we are in our own mind we will always stay young. The story follows Caroline who moves into a new apartment. On the first night she is awoken by Simon, her neighbor, who is having some boisterous fun with a lady-friend on the other side of the wall. Hilarity ensues as Simon’s escapades continue, boil over, and then explode when Caroline and Simon realize they have mutual friends. If the forced proximity of their walls wasn't enough to bring them together then all their friends dating each other would be. Needless to say, the story was entertaining as hell. But I think the most interesting part of this book was the smut. I really don't want to give anything away because it was not what I expected from the title. But let me say this: Wallbanger talked about the fragility of women's pleasure and how it is not a given. It dove into how complex sex can be for women no matter how much they may want it. All in all Wallbanger is going into the Must Read SMUNTH catalog. I think it perfectly encapsulates the nuance of sex while keeping it fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hard cover</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - Smunth ‘25 - Praise by Sara Cate ️️️️ This steamy story is about a girl who falls in love with her ex-boyfriend’s dad when she becomes his secretary. Oh, and did I mention that he is also the owner of a new sex club? Well, so yeah, that’s the journey Praise takes you on. This story definitely extends into some more taboo themes than your run of the middle smutty book. But stories set in sexclubs allways seem to have the most interesting discourse around sex to dissect. This book was no different. Not only was Charlotte, the FMC, experiencing her own sexual awakening but the conversations of Emerson, our MMC, with several characters (especially his son) were very insightful. Emerson is stuck in a tough situation. He wants to create a safe and positive place for people to enjoy desire with his new club. At the same time he is losing his beloved son due to his son’s small-mindedness. Emerson's internal struggle was fascinating and moving to read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hard cover</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - From Debutante to Rakess - To Love and To Loathe by Martha Waters ️️️ Martha Waters truly understands the beauty of a Regency romance. This is the second book in the Regency Vows series. Waters has created a world in these books that you can't help but want to slip into. To Love and To Loathe follows the charismatic charmers of the friend group. Our MMC is a rake who can't help but charm his way through life. But when one of his “lady friends” communicates dissatisfaction with his performance in bed he goes to the only person who can help. His best friend's sister, a widow, who can teach him a thing or two. It also doesn't hurt that he has always been obsessed with her. WHAT A PLOT. <image:title>Blog - From Debutante to Rakess - The Governess Game by Tessa Dare ️️️ Tessa Dare, just like Julia Quinn, is one of the experts in historical romance. Her ability to capture Regency London and play with her hero and heroine’s hearts is an absolute treat to read. This story follows Chase Reynaud, one of London’s most notorious rakes, who believes is utterly undeserving of love after his cousin gets killed. This guilt leads him to push away his orphan wards, but the governess, Alexandra Mountbatten is able to help him remember that he’s worthy of love. It was a fun romp. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - From Debutante to Rakess - Beautiful Things by Emily Rath ️️️️️ This book gives YEARNING. This first book in the series follows four characters, 3 men and 1 woman who discover, over two books, that they are all in love with each other. Does that sound complicated? Guess what? it is. Don’t worry there are plenty of steamy moments. The hilarity that ensues in these books and the nuanced development of feelings between the characters has you falling in love with all of them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - From Debutante to Rakess - His Grace, The Duke by Emily Rath ️️️️️ In the second book, we continue to follow this quartet. We get even deeper into the main characters’ minds. We are used to reading about MF in regency times, but to see an MM or even an MMM story set in a time where such relationships were illegal, is fascinating. These characters have to find a unique way to live within the constraints of their society and express their love. I also must add that there are several secondary characters that have you absolutely cackling with their commentary. My favorite character is one of the brothers of the three gentlemen. He becomes a dear friend to our heroine. This book is pure magic. Way to go, Professor Rath! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - From Debutante to Rakess - Alcott Hall by Emily Rath ️️️️️ This book follows 2 men and 1 woman who are within the social circle of the previous 4. This book has all of the same humour, romance and social commentary, but add the unique layer of religious guilt and queer identity. The biggest obstacle for these 3 is that one of the men is a vicar who battles his shame and guilt of loving his childhood friend, and also of daring to love a second person. While in most romance series, we only briefly hear about the previous characters, our original 4 feature prominently in this book and give it the needed levity. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - From Debutante to Rakess - The Rakess by Scarlett Peckham ️️️ This book is a masterful testament to how hard it is to be bold. What makes this book compelling is that it is both extremely romantic and heartbreakingly real at the same time. Seraphina, pregnant at 16 and abandoned by her lover, is forced to leave her small town in Cornwall. The baby dies right after birth. Instead of letting this destroy her, she rises to become a well-known philosopher about the double standard between genders when it comes to sex. The relationship that develops between Seraphina and Adam is multi-layered, and often extremely challenging, because they actually live their lives out in the open in a society that is not ready for the feminism they embody. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - A Very Kinky Valentine’s - Desperate Measures by Katee Robert ️️️️️ This retelling of Jasmine and Jafar was a crazy time. It's like One Thousand and One Nights crosses over and is set in Gotham and everyone is a mobster and sexy. The book was definitely smutty. I mean, the smut started in chapter two! Though this was definitely not my favorite book, it was a fun world. And very steamy! But I definitely thought the best part of the story was Jasmine taking ownership of her desire and power. ⭐️⭐️kindle</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - A Very Kinky Valentine’s - Lights Out by Navessa Allen ️️️️️ Now is this book fucked up in many ways, stalking being the main non-consentual activity? Yes! But are there pretty good conversations about consent and what each character is willing to do? Also, yes. This book has a crazy plot. Basically Josh is the son of a serial killer who has a social media account where he posts shirtless-masked-thirst traps. If you are not sure what this is, let's just say it is a unique side of the internet that leans into dark themes. He basically finds out that his roommate's ex (whom he has a huge crush on) watches his content. Oh, and did I mention he’s a hacker? He basically finds her and sees that she has left hundreds of lusty comments on his videos. So class, he does what anyone in their right mind would (NOT!), and tracks her down. Fucking crazy, I know! But again, I want to reiterate that all sexual activity in this book is 100% consensual. I also have to say that this book was funny as hell. The amount of humor had me laughing out loud many times! So if you are looking for a really funny dark romance, she is your girl! Also, it’s a great audio book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️paperback</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - A Very Kinky Valentine’s - Deep End by Ali Hazelwood ️️️️ I know I say this every single time but Ali Hazelwood can do no wrong. I loved this book. I loved that it was her classic “women in stem” but with a twist. This is her first sports romance and she knocked it out of the park. I loved that she took all the things that she was good at - humor, world building, stakes - and added kinky fun to it. As far as kink goes, this was definitely the most tame book I read this month. But it still had some of the best dialogue about it. Lukas’s emphasis on trust and communication made this story work perfectly. I think everyone should read this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ special edition</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - A Very Kinky Valentine’s - Minx by Sophie Lark ️️️️️ Sophie Lark’s books have a way of pulling me in and keeping me on the edge of my seat. Minx is no exception. This story follows Manhattan's most talented escort, Blake Abbot, as she deals with her new client, Ramses Howell. But he has no intention of being just one of her clients; he wants to be the center of her world and his kink is to take care of someone. The two find the home they have always been looking for in each other. From their difficult upbringings to their love of investment trading, the two are a match made in heaven. This book also had wonderful conversations about kink and sexual empowerment. Ramse’s respect for her work as a sex worker was refreshing. Such a fun book! <image:title>Blog - The Fifty Shades of Anastasia’s Education - Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James: Book 1 ️️️️️ It's funny how many reviews of this book start the same way: “this was way better than I thought it would be.” That is exactly how I feel about books that are as popular as Fifty Shades. It can be hard to know how well they are written. Was this book a literary masterpiece? No. But was it a really interesting story? Yes! I instantly empathized with Anastasia. I think James wrote a beautifully complex character that many women could empathize with even though her experiences are not the most relatable. This goes for Christian Grey as well. He is the perfect “morally gray book boyfriend.” He is very flawed and hard to understand on the surface, yet the complexity James gave to him made him this deliciously complicated character. Both characters are so well developed that you can understand why Christian would throw everything out the window just to hold on to Anastasia and why Anastasia would expand her heart and understanding to give this man a shot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️hard cover</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Fifty Shades of Anastasia’s Education - Fifty Shades Darker by E. L. James: Book 2 ️️️️️ What I like about this book was diving into the background and trauma of Christian’s life, leading him to be the man that he is when he meets Anastasia. It's an interesting look at childhood trauma, abuse, and PTSD. There is also a wonderful conversation on who is really the villain. It's also interesting to observe the growth in Anastasia because she is not a therapist and she is trying to enter into a relationship with someone who has a lot of baggage. She must grapple with falling in love with someone who has a lot of trauma. That being said, there is a lot of conversation about therapy, and I loved the therapist character we meet in the book. And of course the conversation about sex in the book also evolves with her not signing the contract. They both have to push themselves to do things that may make them uncomfortable but that they are consenting to in an effort to strengthen their intimacy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ special edition</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Fifty Shades of Anastasia’s Education - Fifty Shades Freed by E. L. James: Book 3 ️️️️️ The third and final book really talks about power and control. Christian’s constant need to have control over all things, especially Anastasia, is the main plot of the third book. The two are married now so they have to find ways to compromise and listen. The main argument in this book is Christian having a need to keep her safe. But he is doing it in a controlling and suffocating manner. Anastasia is trying to get Christian to communicate with her. The two struggle to find an equilibrium but in the end love conquers all. And this book highlights the love these two have found with one another. It has all the great makings of a final installment in a series: great group scenes, secondary plot lines, flashbacks, action, and a whole lot of smut. Enjoy the journey! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ special edition</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Fifty Shades of Anastasia’s Education - Fifty Shades of Grey, Directed by Sam Taylor-Jonson: Movie 1️️️️️ It's so funny to me that the movies have the same layout as their inspiration, The Twilight Saga. See, the first movie has a smaller budget and leans more into the blue filter just like the first Twilight. This movie has become just as quotable to me as the first Twilight film. Lines like “I don’t make love. I fuck. Hard.” live rent free. Is the movie a bit cheesy? Sure. But does it have impeccable production value? Fuck, yeah! It's the world-building in these movies that has me coming back time and time again. Yes, the sex scenes are hot. But there are not many places where you can get hot sex with awesome ambience, a killer score, and engaging plot. It's the female gaze, slay female directors!!!! Soooo I say get off the high horse and come sit on the couch with me, as we drink wine, scream and sing Love Me Like You Do while Jamie Dornan flies Dakota Johnson in a helicopter. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can't help but watch it again</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Fifty Shades of Anastasia’s Education - Fifty Shades Darker, Directed by James Foly: Movie 2️️️️️ It's so funny that this movie is a classic sequel. Everything is just a little bit different and a little bit nicer. It's giving BUDGET. Again, class: stellar production value, amazing score, and overall VIBES! I love this one too because the stakes are crazy with helicopter crashes and being held at gunpoint. It's a wild time! But the billiard scene: 10/10! The sailboat scene, swoon! And the scene where they finally go back to the red room (insert Nick meeting Prince in New Girl) AHHHHHHHHHH! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can't help but watch it again</image:title>

<image:title>Blog - The Fifty Shades of Anastasia’s Education - Fifty Shades Freed, Directed by James Foly: Movie 3️️️️️ The last movie has all the things we love about this movie franchise, but it's a bit faster. I think this is the movie that deviates from the book the most. The two things I missed the most in this one was her dad’s accident and the subplot for Jason Taylor and Gail Jones. But I will live. If I’m honest this movie has the best soundtrack of them all! The Wolf should be on everyone's playlist. The movie was fun, sexy, and classic Grey. This movie is a fantastic end to a fabulous series. Chef's Kiss. Grab your girlies and the wine and have a watch party!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A damn good time</image:title>
